Top Banana Consumers in 2013

Banana consumption across the world was 86 million tonnes total, compared with a few other food items - vegetables at 983 million tonnes, fruits at 545 million tonnes, beer at 187 million tonnes and oranges at 87 million tonnes.

Banana Producers in 2017

Banana production was 114 million tonnes in 2017, fruits as a whole were 865 million tonnes, citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, etc) at 146 million tonnes and watermelons at 118 million tonnes.

Imports and Exports in 2013

Import of bananas in 2013 was 19 million tonnes, while export was 21 million tonnes.
